If any of you could please share the videos concerning Brazil I have posted below. The mass media is not reporting on any of this, today radio stations’ signals were cut and replaced with the narration of soccer games simply because they were reporting on police brutality who locked protesters inside a park with children and women inside, gassed them and shot rubber bullets.

No, this is not what my blog is about, but if Catherine’s hair can get 25 notes, I’m sure that the fight for Brazil’s democracy deserves too.

The brazilian media is being censured. Websites that express the true situation by people who have been victims of police brutality are being taken down. The government is refusing to acknowledge any of this, and our president has not even made a statement about the situation. The Brazil media is reporting that the protesters are vandals and bandits.

What is it that Brazil is protesting for, you may ask?

We want the end of rampant corruption that affects every single system in the country

We want the end of police brutality

We want better conditions in public transportation, public hospitals and schools

We want the government to listen to its people, and not repress peaceful manifestations of democracy

We want justice for those who were hurt by police brutality in what started as a peaceful manifestation against the raising of the prices of what may be one of the worst public transportation systems in the world

We want some of the funds that have been used for the World Cup (including the building of the most expensive arena ever to host a world cup - costing 1.2 billion) to be used for necessary things such as fighting hunger and poverty

We want our media not to be censured and to expose the reality of the country

Does that sound absurd to you?

We need the world to listen, and the internet is our only way. The only way we can change things is if we get the world to speak up and pressure the brazilian government into action - and that’s why we need your help. Please, please, please help us.

Creepshots is back. And they have migrated to Tumblr.

This needs to fucking stop. This is an absolute invasion of women, this is disgusting, and this Tumblr needs to go away.

We need to report both the Twitter and the Tumblr.

Creepshots is a website for men to take “sexy” pictures of unsuspecting women, and from their ‘About Us’ section it states: “Creepshots are CANDID pictures. If a person is posing or aware that a picture is being taken, then it is no longer a creepshot.”

These men take pictures of women who are unaware and post them.

And then under their rules for getting the pictures removed? One of the two options is to “appreciate” the fact that some fucking gross man took a picture of you.

WE NEED TO REPORT THEM HERE’S HOW

there’s two ways-it’s more effective if you do both:

1) Block them here and then report for harassment.

2) You can also email tumblr at abuse@tumblr.com and tell them to ban creepshots. Provide them with the url to the blog (creepshots.tumblr.com) and explain why they should be banned. If you’re too lazy to write out an email, you can use mine:

Hello tumblr staff,

Please remove/ban the blog creepshots.tumblr.com. They post demeaning, humiliating and objectifying pictures of women (typically their asses and breasts and even under their skirts) that they take without their permission on the street and in public. These guys were banned and deleted from reddit. Can you really say that tumblr is less of a safe respectable place than reddit?

What they are doing is wrong. Many, many users on tumblr feel violated and unsafe by this blog’s presence in the tumblr community. These men are violating the privacy of women everywhere. They specifically state in their about me: “Creepshots are CANDID pictures. If a person is posing or aware that a picture is being taken, then it is no longer a creepshot. A true creepshot captures the natural sexy, embarrassing or funny aspect of the subject mater/person without their knowledge.” They specifically state that only accept pictures of people whose privacy has been violated (source: http://creepshots.tumblr.com/AboutUs).

Please do something to show that you care about the safety and dignity of women, particularly the women in the tumblr community. If you don’t care about that, can you at least ban/delete them in the name of protecting yourself from legal liability? because there’s a strong likelihood that some of those pictures are of underaged girls. Given that these men are taking pics of young women they don’t know, how can they know their ages for certain? All it takes is one concerned parent or adolescent seeing their picture on that site, and if you don’t take it down, legal action could be taken against you.

So please, in the name of what is ethical and right and even legally responsible and smart, delete creepshots. Thank you.

Just thought I’d give a heads up to everyone at the con this year:

So since I wanted to talk about this. Apparently if you have ever taken photos with a photographer in image solutions…well…you’re a body pillow now. I found this horrible thing in the dealers room. Apparently it’s legal because it’s a “promotional item”. Since when did promotions gets charged? All I can say is I wasn’t told these were going to be made when I SPECIFICALLY talked to him last year what he was going to do with the photos and I do not approve of it at all. He was selling these in the dealers room of the convention he took them at last year thinking the cosplayers would be okay with it. Obviously this man is beyond stupid. He had small pillows and larger ones too. When me, and two friends confronted him he had the AUDACITY to tell me that I was a popular seller, as if that would make me feel more comfortable about this. There were many others who had pillows made and every other person I talked to was disgusted with this.

Be careful of his unsavory business tactics, and if you find out he’s selling you as a product, make sure to confront him and demand a physical copy of whatever crap he had you sign, Also, he doesn’t ask for ages when he does photos, so that being said, there is a chance that some of these photos are of underaged girls. Regardless, it’s shoddy, its horrible, and this guy needs to stop, or get his camera broken. (When I discovered my girlfriend on a pillow and a sticker set…I wasn’t too happy).

This is absolutely atrocious behavior.
